Hanging Rock Summit Walk

What's better than hiking up an ancient volcano? Hiking up an ancient volcano with a llama!

About

The Hanging Rock Summit Walk is unique in many ways, not least as it offers visitors the option to have a llama tag along for the hike! Formed 6 million years ago by the eruption of stiff lava through a narrow crevice, the ‘mamelon’ (or rock formation) that is the Hanging Rock is an ancient and impressive feature in the landscape of central Victoria. It is a popular tourist destination for those seeking adventure, be that by hiking on cycling the steep incline to reach the top of the rock. If you prefer to take the weight off and leave the heavy lifting to a woolly companion, you can lead a lovely llama on the hiking trail to reach the summit for some truly breathtaking views. The summit sits at more than 700 metres above sea level, and if that seems like a daunting task - fear not, you can simply visit the Hanging Rock Winery instead!
