For a combination of exhilarating outdoor activities and relaxing spa pools, you can’t touch this.
The basis of this spa town is, and always will be, the amazing natural hot springs that has drawn in so many visitors down the years. The therapeutic pools at the spa complex have provided a relaxing experience for over a century and the range of hot pools on offer means there is something to suit everyone, from cold plunge pools to scorching baths, as well as sauna and steam rooms. More recently a fresh water pool and a water slide have been constructed, which is great for the kids. Away from the pools is the outstanding array of outdoor activities. Take your pick from forest walks, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, bungee jumping, and jet boat rides. Maps and information are available at the local tourist information centre. Don’t forget to refuel at one of the cafes and enjoy the view of the impressive Mt Isobel.
