Situated atop 3 rocks, this now-ruined medieval castle offers stupendous views over all of Alsace.
Built in the 12th century and restored in the 14th, this castle stands atop 3 rocks nearly 500 meters above sea-level. Thanks to its incomparable vantage point, Strasburgers dubbed its ‘the Alsace eye’. Though mostly destroyed visitors can still admire the Romanesque chapel, as well as the remains of the artillery tower, the shooting embrasures, and walk between the rocks via the ‘Devils Bridge’.
