Herceg Novi is situated on the slopes of Mt. Orjen at the entrance to the Bay of Kotor. The coastal town was founded in 1382 by King Tvrtko I and has been ruled by many throughout the ages. Herceg Novi emulates a botanical garden, with lush tropical flowers and rare fauna. The city center, Stari Grad, is adorned with winding streets and buildings that date back to the 1300’s.
