Constructed by thankful fishermen, this mountaintop church offers stupendous views.
After surviving a surprise storm, a group of 17th century sailors vowed to construct a church to thank the Virgin for returning home alive. They sought out the highest point on the coast, finally, settling on the mountain of San Benet. The site is popular not just among tourists who come for the views, but also local lovers of the hiking. From atop of the mountain, visitors are rewarded with a vast panorama of the town, Peñíscola, and even the Islands Columbretes.
