Explore this stunning rugged park for stunning views alongside unparalleled bird watching and snorkeling.
The rugged allure of Hog Bay Park sprawls over 30 acres of loosely marked trails and largely untamed wilderness. The incredible diversity of terrains and native wildlife species turn every visit here into an adventure. The park gets its name from its 17th-century history, when wild hogs were present in the area, supposedly thanks to mariners who dropped them here to provide long-standing food supplies to shipwrecked sailors along the coast. The hogs have since gone and the original bay has been renamed Pilchard Bay, but the park honored its namesake upon its opening in the 90s. Today, visitors can enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities, from hiking and bird-watching to snorkeling at low tide. The vast array of tropical bird and fish species creates an unparalleled experience for visitors.
