This beautiful glacial valley lookout point is dedicated to the local man who died trying to keep road safe from the mountains.
Named after Robert Alistair Andrew, who died in an avalanche in 1983, Pop's View is a beautiful panorama of the mountains “Pop” loved. With great views of the Hollyford Valley and distant mountains, and informative sign point out not only the name of each peak, but gives some background on the incredibly glacial activity behind the scene in front of you. The lookout is also a great place to spot kea, the South Island’s endangered alpine parrots.
