Horton Plains National Park is perched on the shoulders of two of the region's highest peaks, Kirigalpotta and Totapola, creating a plateau-like expanse. On one side, you'll encounter vast plains and rocky hills, while on the other, thick forests and towering mountains dominate the scenery. The captivating views encompass everything from waterfalls and serene lakes to sweeping vistas of the distant ocean. The star attraction of this national park is the awe-inspiring World's End, where the plateau abruptly drops over 800 meters, offering breathtaking panoramic views, on clear days even reaching the distant Adam's Peak. Along the way, you may encounter the elusive Sri Lankan leopard or a peaceful deer. As you explore the park, don't miss the historic hunting lodge, which now houses a charming café and visitor center.
