Home to the world’s largest hornbeam hedge-maze, this unique garden is all about getting lost in nature.
Opened in 2014, Hortulus Spectabilis gardens is a swath of green stretching for 8 hectares, with another 22 in the works. Here, visitors can get lost in a hornbeam labyrinth, which covers a full hectare on its own, making it the largest in the world. Once reaching the heart of the labyrinth, visitors can scale the 20 meter observation tower for views of the entire garden complex, including the Stone Circle, Celtic Calendar, perennial rebates, rosaria, and boxwood platforms, and the unusual Modernist Garden. After exploring, visitors can stop by the on-site cafe to enjoy the verdant gardens, snack-in-hand.
