At high tide, Hot Water Beach appears another regular, but stunning, Kiwi beach. However, once the low tide strikes, the unique features of this shore come to life. The area of sand which is located in an offshoot at the middle of the beach, is where hot (sometimes boiling) water will exude from the sand when one shallowly digs into the surface. Make sure to come prepared with a shovel, and that’s all you need to easily form a makeshift hot tub for yourself and your friends (or neighbors). In addition, this beach also serves as a fantastic surf spot for all of you wave chasers. Whether you would like to spend the afternoon catching some swells or relaxing in a natural jacuzzi, this beach is a must-visit if you are passing through.
