A sprawling city park in Janghang-dong boasts one of the largest artificial lakes in Asia, thoughtfully designed to bring a natural-looking space to a bustline urban area.
Ilsan Lake Park brings picturesque lakeside scenery and extensive trails to an inner city landscape, and is popular for leisurely strolls, outdoor activities, and enjoying the beauty of nature. The park is divided into two distinct parts by Dal-ma-ji island, situated in the middle of the lake. The northern section is filled with plant growth and surrounds a real natural lake, while the southern part is adorned with fountains and open squares. Notable landmarks include the octagonal pavilion "Wal-pa-jung" on Dal-ma-ji island, the impressive "Go-sa fountain" that spouts over 10 meters high during summer days, and Han-ul square, often utilized for rollerblade contests and skateboarding activities. The park's recreational amenities are equally diverse, providing a promenade road, bicycle path, inline skating, walking, and jogging trails that encompass the lake. Ilsan Lake Park serves as the venue for the renowned annual Goyang International Flower Festival and has even been featured as a filming location for Seoul Broadcasting System's drama "Star's Lover."
