Under the right conditions, seawater erupts from this sinkhole hundreds of meters from the sea.
Jack's Blowhole is a 55 meter deep sinkhole that formed after a sea cave collapsed from erosion. Located 200 meters from the coast, during particularly heavy seas, the large waves are compressed through the underground tunnel before exploding into the blowhole in a roar of spray and foam. . There are plenty of roaring sound effects from both the water and an onrush of air, created by the surge from the sea expelling the air from the tunnel. Even when it’s not spraying, Jack’s Blowhole is an impressive fissure, but we still recommend checking the weather before planning your trip.
