While congress was in recess, the president would spend his days in this elegant country home. Today, you can tour the beautifully reproduced rooms to learn more about the president's private life and 19th century living in general. Plus, as the first presidential library in the United States, its filled with artifacts and documents spanning Garfield's life and political career.
