They began import some the best examples of European flora, and eventually used their substantial means to bring in samples from the Americas, Asia and Africa. Throughout the 1800s, their impressive collection was a popular meeting place for the illustrious personalities of the day. Today, 23 hectares are open to the public, and cleverly organized into themed routes. The "Jewels of La Concepcion" passes the park’s iconic landmarks and is the most representative experience. Visitors can also go 'Around the world in 80 trees’, and pass through flora collected from five continents. To take advantage of the park’s scenic vantage point, the ‘Viewpoint Route’ combines subtropical and indigenous plants with viewpoints overlooking the city.
