Encompassing two locations, Jabal Umm Sinman in Jubbah and Jabal al-Manjor and Raat in Shuwaymis, this UNESCO-listed site boasts petroglyphs and inscriptions that date back nearly 10,000 years. Jabal al-Manjor and Raat, forming a rocky escarpment in a wadi now covered by sand, exhibit an array of figures representing both humans and animals, spanning a remarkable 10,000 years of history. These carvings, etched onto the rock's surface, offer insight into the ways of life, culture, and rituals of bygone eras. Jabal Umm Sinman, situated in Jubbah, showcases the remnants of a once-thriving lake, offering fresh water to people and animals in the southern part of the Great Nafoud Desert. The rock face at both locations tells a tale of humanity's evolution, with depictions of animals, everyday activities like hunting, and even extinct species.
