Uganda
Elephants, hippos and crocodiles are just some of the animals you can expect to see as you sail through the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The Kazinga Channel flows through the Queen Elizabeth National Park for 40 km, connecting Lake Edward and Lake George in the Western and Eastern parts of the park respectively. Two-hour boat rides leave the Mweya Safari Lodge four times per day and promise a magical, once in a lifetime experience for nature lovers. For bird-watching it is recommended to take a morning tour (there are more than 600 species in the national park!). If you prefer to spot animals such as elephants, buffalo, crocodiles and antelopes to name just a few, an afternoon tour is for you. The wildlife is more active then, and you will also have the chance to see Uganda’s largest concentration of hippos which resides in the park. If you’re not able to make one of the scheduled tours, you can opt to rent a smaller boat from the lodge and go at your own pace and convenience. Please note that due to the extensive wildlife conservation efforts, there is an admission fee ($40 for adults and $20 for children), payable upon entry to the park.
