This park is so vast that visitors can opt to trek through the jungle or watch the sunset over a picturesque reservoir.
Covering 1500 square kilometers, Khao Laem National Park is centered around a man-made reservoir and surrounded by limestone mountains. For visitors looking for a quick natural excursion, the 5-meter tall Kroeng Krawia Waterfall is the most easy to access site (and it’s free). If you’d like to explore the forest, you first need to stop at the nearby visitor center to inform the park rangers. Birdwatchers would enjoy the 5km trek to Krawia Swamp, while those looking for some more impressive falls can opt for the 4km hike up to Kra Teng Cheng Waterfall. Of course, if you’d rather just soak in some stunning lake views, you can head up to Pom Pee, which is particularly beautiful at sunset.
