Kokořín Castle provides the perfect setting for visitors seeking the fairytale experience that can be found hidden deep in this stunning nature reserve. The castle tower recalls an age when maidens in distress were rescued by dashing knights who would scale the high walls with ease. Today’s visitors prefer to take an easier option and use the steps to climb to the top of the tower to experience the out-of-this-world panoramic views over the similarly named Kokořínsko Nature Reserve. The castle was nationalized by the state in 1948 and designated a natural cultural landmark in 2001. Kokořín has inspired many artists over the years and nowadays serves as a popular wedding venue.
