About

Kyneton started as a humble rural settlement in 1850 that grew into a regional hub during the gold rush. Today, the Piper Street, Kyneton's original commercial centre, still retains many of its quaint bluestone heritage buildings. Along with its historic charms, Kyneton has become an off-the-beaten-track gastronomical destination, with the award-winning Animus Distillery serving up amazing gin and Musk Lane Wines offering tastings. Piper Street is known for its food and shopping, so its well worth popping in to the many shops, particularly Piper Street Food Company to get some picnic provisions before heading to the 19th century Kyneton Botantical Garden Kyneton is also home to the largest natural mineral springs in Australia where you can take bottles to fill from the pump or you can enjoy resting at Ellenis or the Maiaveda Holistic Day Spa.
