La Falda, surrounded by the scenic Cerro El Cuadrado and Cerro La Banderita, serves as a hub for tourism in the Punilla Valley. Originally inaugurated in 1897 by a German hotelier, the opulent Hotel Edén became a beacon of luxury, hosting dignitaries, actors, and even Albert Einstein. However, its storied past took a darker turn in the prelude to World War II, as it became a haven for Nazi officials, with ties reaching Adolf Hitler himself. Despite its tumultuous history, Hotel Edén stands as a testament to architectural splendor. Declared a Historical Monument in 1988, this once-abandoned gem has been resurrected as a museum, inviting visitors to explore its grand Carrara marble stairs, dining rooms, solarium, and more. The hotel's golden age is vividly portrayed through exhibits featuring gala evenings, families with maids, and trunks filled with summer attire. The former hotel, now a public park and historic museum, welcomes guests for guided tours and private events, with night visits revealing intriguing myths and ghost stories.
