Home to frilly waterfowl, this gorgeous lake reflects the soaring mountain peaks that surround it.
Covering nearly 2 square kilometers, and surrounded by rugged mountain peaks Lake Clearwater lies at the heart of a breathtaking 60,000 hectare reserve. The area received its protected statues as it’s home to the great crested grebe, a flamboyant waterfowl. On calm days, the surrounding mountains are reflected on the lake waters, with the walking trail that loops around the lake offering breathtaking views and countless photo opportunities. For a fantastic panorama, you can also make the 2.5 hour return hike up Mount Guy to take in the whole lake. Along with the beautiful hike, the lake is well-known for its great fishing, and for stoic thrill-seekers, windsurfing in its frigid waters.
