New Zealand
As one of the largest lakes in New Zealand, this serves as a perfect place for a beautiful picture or a coffee with a view.
This scenic reserve has been recreated since the Mount Tarawera eruption that occurred in 1886 and serves as a departure point for many boat tours along the lake. Take an hour and enjoy a coffee at a cafe along the river while gazing at the stunning view surrounding you. At the northern end of the lake, there are also numerous very pleasant camping spots to enjoy some lunch on a break from your drive. Relax at a spot near the Tarawera River, only 100 metres back along Waterfall Road.
