Las Pailas is the perfect spot to cool off after exploring the El Yunque rainforest. Here, the fresh mountain water has smoothed the rocks into two natural water slides, which splash you down into pools of cool mountain water. To build up your confidence, start on the lower and slower slide, which is about 15 feet long and puts you straight into a pool of cool water. Once you’re warmed up and cooled off, you can try out the upper slide, which has a few bumps and turns over its 30-foot course. There are almost always locals here, and they’re happy to tell (and sow) you the safest way to ride.
