Machakos People’s Park serves as a meeting point for locals but also sees many travellers who are just passing through and in need of a convenient place to rest on longer journeys. The park is equipped with clean bathroom facilities and a couple of small restaurants serving up various dishes. Grab a bite to eat and kick back at the edge of the lake on the outskirts of the park or take a seat at the small, grassy amphitheater nearby. There are swings and a playground for the kids to let off some steam before hitting the road again. This park is the perfect place to stretch your legs and refresh before continuing on your journey. It is open from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
