Meyer Werft began in 1795 building small wooden vessels, and today is one of the world’s premier builders of luxury passenger ships. Its Dockhalle 2 is the 5th-largest usable space in the world, having been used to construct 5 of the 10 largest cruise ships in the world. At the information center, visitors can learn more about the company history and its massive undertakings. A guided tour then brings visitors into the factory itself, where the sheer scale of constructing a cruise-ship with finally sink in.
