Romania
This noble home is a premier example of the regional Brancovan style, with its distinctive combination of Ottoman and Venetian elements.
Built between 1698-1702 by Constantin Brâncoveanu, Constantin and his entire family were executed in Constantinople in 1714, after which the palace was converted into an inn. After passing between several owners, it was given to Princess Marthe Bibesco by her husband, and became a central meeting place for international high society and politicians. Today, visitors can roam the beautiful grounds and gardens to appreciate the Romanian Renaissance style from every angle, before heading inside for the museum and art gallery.
