Moli de Dalt

Recently restored to its former glory, this quaint blue and white windmill features a museum on the bottom floor and scenic views from the top floor.

About

At the heart of the charming town of Sant Lluis, you will find the impressive Moli de Dalt windmill which is the picturesque blue and white icon of the town that locals take pride in. Three windmills used to be in operation here, built by the French when they occupied Menorca from 1756 to 1763. Moli de Dalt was built in 1762 and amazingly functioned as a windmill until 1949 when strong winds, unfortunately, destroyed it. The windmill was lovingly reconstructed and restored in 1987 and continues to be well-maintained to this day. Enter the windmill to find a museum where you can find a fascinating collection of agricultural tools and machinery that were used in the area. Climb the spiral staircase to be rewarded with views of the terracotta rooftops of Sant Lluis and the surrounding area. The windmill is open Monday - Friday between 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
