Follow the special journey of marine turtles and learn about research and conservation efforts put forth by this devoted facility.
Spend time immersing yourself in tales of turtles at the Mons Repos Turtle Centre and learn about the little creatures that take a big journey. Researchers and rangers use theater and film, interactive displays, soundscapes and more to educate patrons on this intriguing ancient animal. The larger Mon Repos Conservation Park houses more than just a learning facility - it is home to the most significant loggerhead turtle nesting population in the South Pacific region. Between November and late March, visitors have the rare opportunity to witness the endangered marine turtles emerging from the sea to lay their eggs. Those lucky enough will be able to see baby turtles hatch weeks later and follow their journey as they make their way to their new home at sea. This nightly turtle encounter runs out of the Turtle Centre and bookings are essential.
