Mount Maunganui is located atop a sandbar that attaches it to the mainland, which results in the presence of both harbour beach and ocean beach. Spend your afternoon relaxing on the iconic white sand beaches of harbour beach or catch some perfect waves at ocean beach. For those who prefer to stay out of the water, there is of course the stunning hike to the mountain’s summit or the ability to hang out at beachside cafes and restaurants.
