Delve into the unexpected chapters of Aruba's industrial past, nestled within the walls of a historic water tower.
Aruba, renowned as a tourist paradise, relies heavily on its thriving tourism industry. But did you know that several other industries also call Aruba home? The Museum of Industry, situated in the Water Tower in San Nicolas, illuminates Aruba's industrial history that began in the 19th century. Exhibits filled with artifacts and historical photos tell the island's tale of gold mining, aloe plant cultivation, oil refining, the phosphate industry, and, naturally, tourism. This diverse industrial landscape would not be possible without the various cultures that have come together to drive Aruba's industrial development, a rich tapestry highlighted in a separate exhibit. Visitors often highlight the friendly staff who are always ready to guide guests through the exhibits. The museum welcomes visitors from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, and on Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.
