The historical homeland of the Gumbaynggirr Indigenous people, Nambucca Heads is also known for being a really popular vacation destination for curious and adventurous travelers. Nambucca Heads has one of the oldest surf clubs in Australia, as well as Australia’s first junior surf clubs. For a unique sightsee, visit the V Wall along the estuary, a modern tourist attraction where people and artists alike have decorated the rocks along the estuary with their signature art; whether novice or professional. For some good surf n’ sun, visit the main beach where you can catch the waves, but also rest on the powdery white sand. If you want a calmer beach experience, you can tread to the Shelly Beach and Rotary Lookout, which has calm waters, a more relaxed atmosphere and great swimming opportunities. Nambucca Heads hosts a number of lookouts, most notably the Captain Cook Lookout, where you can just watch the beauty of the deep blue of the endless Pacific Abyss.
