Thousands of limestone pillars rise from the sands of this otherworldly landscape.
Nambung National Park is home to the famous Pinnacles Desert. The Pinnacles are thousands of limestone pillars partially submerged in golden sands. There are a couple legends as to how these pillars were created, whether it be the remnants of a lost city, remains of war enemies that have been shaped by the winds, or the more likely; natural elements formed and shaped over the years by seashells, wind, and sand. The park is also home to other wonderful elements such as, the calm beaches of Hangover Bay, or the perfect fishing spot at Kangaroo Point, or even the ancient Lake Thetis. The shores of Lake Thetis are home to ‘ancient living fossils’ formed by organisms too small for us to see, creating a stunning scene. These unique landscapes will truly make Nambung National Park an unforgettable destination.
