National Coffee Park

Whether it’s Colombian coffee or roller coasters that get your heart racing, this park with put a smile on your face.

About

The idea for the National Coffee Park came to Diego Arango Mora and his wife Margarita after they visited the nearby Sugar Museum and were left wondering why there wasn’t a museum dedicated to the country’s most famous export. Arango became chair of the National Congress of Coffee Growers in 1982, but had to work for another decade to finally have his idea come to fruiting. After finding that younger visitors weren’t enthralled with the museum, Arango decided to add an amusement park as well. Today, coffee aficionados and culture enthusiasts can learn about the history and cultural significance of coffee in the region at the interactive museum, or an interpretive dance show. There’s also traditional houses, and for nature lovers, an ecological hiking trail. If coffee doesn’t get your heart racing, you can try one of the park’s 27 rides, which range from a gondola to a Euro-Fighter roller coaster.
