The tallest bridge of its kind in Victoria is a rustic monument surrounded by lush forest.
The Noojee Trestle Bridge, set in the tall forests of Noojee Village, Victoria, is the tallest surviving of its kind in the state of Victoria, standing at a whopping 21 meters high. Constructed at the beginning of the twentieth century, the original bridge burnt down in 1939 but was reconstructed the same year. It formed part of the rail line that linked Melbourne to the village of Noojee. At 102 meters in length, the bridge makes an ideal location to stretch your legs and take in the tranquil forest environment. The Noojee Heritage Centre is located in a replica of the original Noojee railway station (complete with replica locomotive!). It tells the history of the region’s timber and railway heritage and even allows visitors to take a trip in the locomotive. If you wish to visit the Heritage Centre, be sure to increase the duration of the stop!
