Discover a world of indigenous aesthetics at this combination gallery and museum.
The Pachamama Museum was founded by artist Hector Cruz, who spent 10 years carefully creating a living monument to native culture. Part art gallery, and part ethnography museum, Pachamama connects with indigenous heritage through creativity. The grounds are filled with depictions of Andean themes, complete with a Gaudi-esque cactus garden, and are a pleasure to walk through. The gallery buildings have exhibits on local geology (which makes sense considering the Pachamama Museum’s dominant medium), ethnology, and Cruz’ paintings and tapestries.
