This organization works to protect the world’s largest eagle from extinction through breeding and education.
For over a decade, the Philippine Eagle Center has been working to protect the critically endangered Philippine eagle and its forest habitat. They were the first to successfully release a captive-bred eagle into the wild, and breeding continues to be their primary focus. Of the 36 birds housed at the center, 19 were bred in captivity, including one born in 2015. This presents a rare opportunity to see this majestic creature up close, while the free guided tours and informative signs share more information about the Philippines’ national bird. The center is also home to a variety of other indigenous species ranging from gentle deer to giant crocodiles. For more information, please visit philippineeaglefoundation.org
