The Pico do Ferro Viewpoint translates to “Iron Peak” in English and is derived from the volcanic rock formations on which it sits, rich in iron deposits and surveying breathtaking views. At an altitude of around 570 meters, you can see the volcanic crater of Vale das Furnas and gaze at the waters of Lagoa das Furnas, creating a picture-perfect backdrop for any photograph. To the left of the viewpoint, the valley splendidly opens and rolls with lush vegetation, while the entire surrounding mountainous area is in clear view, showcasing the beauty of the Azores in all its glory.
