Slovenia
Often referred to as "the pearl of the Mediterranean", this photogenic town sits atop a small piece of land jutting into the sea.
Part of the Venetian empire from the 13th century to the late 18th century, Piran is the best-preserved town on the Adriatic. Its medieval Venetian Gothic architecture and narrow old town streets attract visitors from all over the world. Piran is home to the well-known violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartini, whom the main square has been named after. A statue erected in his honor can also be found in the square. Enjoy the rich cultural heritage of this small seaside “dream” town.
