Plitvicka Jezera, or Plitvice Lakes, is a UNESCO listed National Park consisting of 16 lakes interconnected by over 90 waterfalls. Its breathtaking beauty makes it one of the most magnificent natural sights in all of Europe.
Plitvice Lakes National Park is Croatia’s most popular attraction. The park covers an area of 300 square kilometers and is surrounded by dense forests. Deer, wolves, bears, owls, eagles, and rare species inhabit the woodland surroundings. Wooden plank pathways lead visitors through paths to the spectacular natural lakes and waterfalls. Veliki Splat Waterfall, the highest waterfall in Croatia (100 ft.) can also be found in the park. The waters of Plitvice Lakes bear distinctive colors, ranging from turquoise blue to gray or green. Plitvice Lakes is a must-see attraction for walkers, hikers, and nature lovers to discover the real beauty of Croatia. Please note: tickets MUST be booked at least 2 days in advance.
