The village features a collection of rustic and ramshackle wooden buildings that were meticulously constructed over seven months. Imported logs and wooden planks from the Netherlands were used to bring the film’s Sweethaven village to life, and brightly colored houses serve as a charming backdrop for exploration and photo opportunities. As guests step into Popeye’s world, they can visit the iconic characters’ houses, including Popeye’s own residence, where they can discover his private nook and even relax in a hammock suspended over his bed. There’s even an opportunity to participate in a remake of the film on location, stepping into the shoes of a movie star for a day and creating lasting memories. For those seeking mementos, the souvenir shop offers a wide array of Popeye collectibles and memorabilia. Popeye Village is open July to September and November to May with an entry fee of €20 for adults and teens.
