Unwind in a naturally heated river hidden in the second driest place on earth.
Hidden in a high-altitude valley, the Puritama Hot Springs is a little slice of paradise in one of the driest and most inhospitable places on the planet. The local Atacama people have known about the springs for centuries, and used the sodium sulfate waters for medicinal purposes. They kept this bit of heaven mostly to themselves, and the springs weren’t even open to the public until relatively recently. Stretching for about 1 kilometer, this fox tail-lined river is dotted with pools and cascades where you can relax in the thermal spring waters, and melt away rheumatism, arthritis, stress, physical fatigue and other ailments while enjoying the singular surroundings. Please note: the entrance fee is not included in the stop price. Tickets must be purchased in advance at https://termasdepuritama.cl/en/
