Malta
Located in the Northern Region of Malta, this town borders the historic capital city of Medina and has been featured in Hollywood blockbusters.
Rabat was once part of the ancient Roman city of Melite and is adorned with historical and cultural treasures. The village is home to the Apostolic Nunciature of the Holy See to the Republic of Malta, making it a religiously significant destination. You may recognise Rabat’s beautiful scenery from Stephen Spielberg’s 2005 film “Munich” and Eric Carson’s 1988 “Black Eagle”. Visit the Catacombs of St. Paul and St. Agatha, used in Roman times as burial grounds located outside the city walls. The town also boasts the Domvs Romanva, a site that preserves the remains of a valuable townhouse featuring impressive mosaics that rival those found in Pompeii and Sicily. Stop by Casa Bernard, a 16th-century palace, which epitomizes Rabat’s charm with its exquisite architecture, antique furniture and paintings. With the proliferation of historic buildings, newly developed areas such as Tal-Virtu and Ghajn Qajjet build after the Second World War also bring a modern side to the beautiful Maltese town.
