Surrounding the magnificent Presidential Palace, these gardens offer a serene and shady retreat with a stunning array of flowers, plants and water features.
The Sant’Anton Gardens will enchant you with winding pathways through roses, Bougainvillea, Norfolk pines and Araucarias, with ancient trees from around the world dating back three centuries. The gardens were designed by Grand Master Antoine de Paule as a complement to his summer residence, San Anton Palace, and has been open to the public since 1882. Wander through the harmonious fusion of rustic elements and natural beauty, with stone sculptures, old urns and fountains adding artistic accents to the landscapes. Benches invite you to bask in the gentle sunshine and sit among the quirky community of cats that wander by. Ducks, swans, goldfish and turtles swim in the ornamental pond and a small aviary in the spacious central court doubles as an open-air theater for captivating performances during the summer months. The Sant’Anton Gardens are open daily from 7AM to 6PM from June to September, and 7AM to 5PM from October to May. This enchanting garden offers a captivating experience, all free of charge.
