The Yunguilla Valley is particularly stunning in the area of the lovely little town of Santa Isabel, with vivid green farmland overlooked by grassy mountains in every direction. The valley itself is oriented east to west so it gets access to the sunshine all day long. As it is at the lower end of the valley it is much warmer than Cuenca at the top, typically between 18 and 32 degrees celsius. This area has so much to offer for nature lovers, form excellent bird-watching opportunities to a myriad of spectacular hiking trails crisscrossing the valleys. Guided horseback rides are also easily available. The warm climate lends itself to a land full of fruit trees, such as mango, orange, banana, avocado and lemon.
