New Zealand
This farm showcases how one of the country’s most historically important products is made through fun demonstrations.
Sheepworld is a fully-functional sheep farm that aims to share this important piece of New Zealand with visitors. Every day at 11:00 and 14:00, the sheepdog demonstrations show how sheep are rounded up and leads them to be sorted and shorn, and the shearing demonstration shows the oft-misunderstood process of actually collecting wool. There’s even lamb feeding to help raise the next generation. In the “Wonderful Wool” multimedia exhibition, you’ll learn how shorn fleece is turned into a variety of final products. Between the sheep shows, there’s also a feeding demonstration (weather permitting) of Sheepworld’s eels and emus. Of course, there’s a shop offering quality sheepskin and woolen goods, and a café where you can relax and enjoy the pastoral setting. Please note: there’s an additional ticket cost for the dog show.
