Situated in the Kalyan taluka of Thane district, this Hindu temple is a revered site dedicated to the elephant-headed god of wisdom.
The Siddhivinayaka Mahaganapati Temple, nestled in the historic town of Titwala, Maharashtra, offers a divine escape to worshippers seeking the benevolent blessings of Lord Ganesha. Titwala, believed to be the legendary hermitage of sage Kanva, holds ancient significance. The temple draws a vast number of devotees, especially on Tuesdays, who believe in the power of Ganesha to reunite separated couples and facilitate desired marriages. With roots embedded in myth and legend, the Siddhivinayaka Mahaganapati Temple has a fascinating history. Built by Shakuntala, the temple was submerged under a tank and rediscovered during the Peshwa Madhavrao I's rule. The deity's image was found buried in the silt by Peshwa sardar Ramchandra Mehendale, leading to the temple's renovation and the construction of a stone temple.
