New Zealand
At the entrance to the Kumeu heritage wine region, this family-run vineyard specializes in sparkling wines, including New Zealand's most-awarded.
The Soljans estate winery was founded by the Croatian immigrant Bartul Soljan in 1932, and has remained in the same family ever since. Sure, their have been some changes over the years, such as the vineyard’s relocation from Henerson, and the construction of a new, Mediterranean style winery, but their passion for wine and traditional techniques have remained the same. The winery is open every day, inviting visitors to their cafe or Cellar Door to try their wide selection of wines while learning about the heritage region, and maybe dine at their Mediterranean-style restaurant. Regardless of how you spend your visit, you’ll likely want to pick up a bottle of New Zealand's most-awarded sparkling wine: Fusion Sparkling Muscat. Groups of 10 or more can also book a guided tour of the vineyard and winery, complete with wine tasting to learn more about the production process, and the winery’s fascinating family history.
