Unwind in a shady grove as you watch clear spring waters gush from a rocky chasm.
The Sorgente Su Gologone is said to be Sardinia’s most important spring. It’s even been listed as a natural monument since 1998. While a small lake is the first you see of the crystal clear water, it actually travels through a vast underground cave system before reaching the surface. After a short hike you reach the rocky chasm, where the water shines in tones of emerald green and brilliant blue. You can just sit and enjoy the scenery, surrounded by a eucalyptus forest, or rent a kayak to follow the stream down river. On your way back to the car, take a short detour to see the quaint Nostra Signora della Pietà church, a proud example of rural religious architecture.
