The Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple was built in 1969, and stands as the largest Hare Krishna Temple in Africa. The beautiful Lotus-shaped building is bedecked with marble tiles, gold-tinted windows, brass ornaments, crystal chandeliers, and golden statuettes in an impressively lavish architectural display. Despite its opulent appearance, the temple is a place of humility, where worship lasts from 4.30AM to 8.45PM, and the city’s poor and destitute are provided with food. Hungry visitors are also welcome to enjoy the temple restaurants affordable and delicious vegetarian Indian food - and many come to the temple for this purpose.
