Cumbe Mayo, which directly translates to “narrow river”, is an aqueduct that dates back to 1500 B.C.E, making it one of the most ancient constructions in South America. The aqueduct itself is covered in alluring hieroglyphics, telling stories of the ancient culture that created it. The site's historical significance is complimented by the stunning Los Frailones - large volcanic pillars created by erosion from wind and rain. But things aren't all just beauty and wonder in this stunning landscape - this is also where the Spanish massacred the Inca.
